We inherited this variety from Al Haycock, the man we bought our farm from. After taking a look at this garlic, the folks at Filaree Farm thought it was very similar to German Brown. Either way, Haycock Red is a consistent favorite hardneck garlic that is extremely cold tolerant.
Delicious roasted, very easy to peel large rosy/chestnut colored cloves. Has a robust flavor when used in other forms of cooking. Spicy heat that dissipates quickly when eaten raw. Keeps for up to 9 months. This garlic has it all!
